April 2019 Metro Missions Update

Hungry Hearts

One of our primary prayer requests since we arrived in Olathe has been that God would lead us to hungry hearts. We are beginning to see answers to that request! Over the past few weeks God has been intersecting us with individuals who are hungry to know more of God. One of these connections is to a ministry to recovering alcoholics and drug addicts. With God’s favor and blessing I will be able to do ongoing Bible studies with the residents.

On the last Sunday night of April God gave us a word that the “soil is rumbling” getting ready to spring forth with new life. We are beginning to see that happen. We are grateful for what God is doing and what He is getting ready to do in the near future.

April Preview Service

We held our second preview service in April. We were blessed to have a ministry team from Urshan College join us for the service. It was a great weekend of outreach, ministry and fellowship. While Easter attendance was not what we had hoped and prayed for, service was a great success with nine first time guests. On a side note, five of the twelve Urshan students were from partner churches!

We are looking forward to the remaining ministry teams that are coming in to be part of our preview services. A team from New Life St. Louis will be with us for our May 19th preview service.

Family Update

April was a full month for Anthony. He attended the last preview weekend for Urshan College on the Howdershell campus. He also attended Missouri Youth Convention with The Life Church the week before Easter. At the end of April, Anthony attended the Ascend Student Convention. Ascend is the UPCI Christian School and Homeschool Convention for high schoolers. He was able to stay with New Life Academy where he was a student from kindergarten through tenth grade. Anthony won first place in male freestyle piano solo and, as a result, he was asked to do a command performance on the last night of the convention.

Kansas hosts Princess University at the Apostolic Church of Topeka each year. Princess University is both a fun and spiritual experience teaching young ladies the principles of godliness and modesty. Anna was able to attend this year and had a wonderful time making new friends.

Portable Church Update

God continues to provide the needed funds for our portable church equipment. Pledges made by our partners continue to come in. We are grateful for all of who partner with us on an ongoing basis and for our equipment.

If you would like more information, or to partner with us to fulfill this vision you can do so at the following link: https://crosschurchkc.com/giving/portable.
