First, you must admit your spiritual need. Romans 3:10 tells us that "There is none righteous, no, not one." We can't make excuses or blame others and our circumstances for our actions. Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God."
John 14:6 (NKJV) 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
The word "repent" means "to change your direction." The Bible tells us in Acts 3:19, "Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord." God commands us to repent. You must be willing to turn away from the things that displease God.
Acts 2:38 (NKJV) 38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
